Nay Saysourinho was the first recipient of the Adina Talve-Goodman Fellowship from One Story Magazine. She has also received fellowships/scholarships from Kundiman, The Writers Grotto, The Mendocino Coast Writers Conference and Tin House Workshop. Her writing has appeared in the Funambulist, the Margins and Kenyon Review Online. She is a regular contributor to the Ploughshares Blog and reads for Pank Magazine. She will begin her residency at the MacDowell Colony in March 2020. The daughter of Lao refugees, she was raised in the province of Québec and spent several years in Saskatchewan. Her writing explores food, nature and colonialism. She is currently working on her first novel —a modern fairy tale set in Southeast Asia— and a short story collection about extinct species. She is based in Connecticut.
