David M. de León is a Puerto Rican poet, academic, and theater artist originally from New Jersey. Creative work has appeared in places like DIAGRAM, Fence Magazine, Rattle, 2River View, Strange Horizons, Anti-, The Cortland Review, and Bat City Review. His poetry manuscript was a finalist for the Dorset prize at Tupelo Press and the Lena-Miles Wever Todd prize at Pleiades. His first full-length play was produced in New York in 2014, and he continues to work in theater with an emphasis on short site-specific works. He is currently a PhD candidate in English literature at Yale, and lives in Queens.
