April Sopkin

India Downes-Le Guin

April Sopkin lives in Richmond, Virginia. Her work appears/is forthcoming in the Southern Indiana Review, The Southampton Review, Portland Review, failbetter, SAND Journal, and elsewhere. Her nonfiction has won the Frank McCourt Memoir Prize (2018), as well as the Slice Literary Writers’ Conference “Bridging the Gap” Competition (2017). In support of her writing, April has been awarded artist residencies at Hypatia-in-the-Woods, Jentel, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She is a dual-genre MFA candidate in fiction and nonfiction at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she is working on a novel-in-stories and an essay collection.
