Performance Strategies for the Page with Benedict Nguyễn
Sunday, April 14th
10 AM  – 1 PM PST / 1 – 4 PM EST

In rehearsal, we can spend hours turning over the same phrase again and again. Through repetition and minute adjustments, we uncover new textures and directions in movement. This workshop transposes practices from performance towards the cultivation of our writing projects. What would it mean to consider our work as dramaturgs?

We’ll explore the porousness between writer and character and the versions of ourselves that traipse onto the page. We’ll apply somatic techniques to construct, iterate, and stylize our scenes. Finally, we’ll consider the power and perils of self-awareness in developing our characters and crafting our author personae to navigate the theatre of doing business. The best of improvisation emerges from rigorous practice. Let’s stretch!

This intensive is open to writers of all genres.

We have one scholarship available for this intensive. Scholarships are conducted through a lottery. If you are interested in submitting your name, please fill out this form.
