Possibilities of the Erotic with K-Ming Chang
Saturday, September 16
11 AM – 2 PM PST / 2 – 5 PM EST
Online
This all-genre generative intensive will explore the expansive possibilities of centering pleasure, eroticism, and desire in our writing. Drawing from short readings and experimental writing prompts, and in tribute to Audre Lorde’s Uses of the Erotic, we will take a playful approach to language and narrative, challenging and building upon our existing definitions or inherited ideas of the erotic. What are the unexpected sources and wellsprings of pleasure (in all its forms) that we can tap into or discover? How can writing about pleasure be a form of resistance, playfulness, speculation, or liberation? How do we write into/write past shame? When does desire enter the story, and what does it let in?
Scholarship
