What is Tin House?

Launched in May 1999, Tin House is a highly acclaimed quarterly literary journal based in Portland, Oregon, and New York City, and distributed throughout North America. Tin House has had eight stories reprinted in the prestigious Best American Short Stories series over the past five years.

Tin House’s circulation is 12,000 copies per issue. It is sold in over 1,000 bookstores—independents and major chains alike—as well as on newsstands across the country.  It is also available online at barnesandnoble.com and powells.com.

Individual copies cost $12.95. Subscriptions are $29.90 for one year (4 issues).

    1) Full-page, 7 inches wide by 9 inches tall, full bleed
    2) Half-page, 7 inches wide by 4.5 inches tall, full bleed
    3) Quarter-page, 3.5 inches wide by 4.5 inches tall, full bleed
  • All interior ads black-and-white, grayscale
  • 133-line screen; high-resolution files required
  • Send in electronic form as a PDF file via e-mail, with fonts.  You may send a camera-ready hard copy instead for an extra one-time fee of $24.

WEB ADVERTISING

Tin House now also offers ads on its Web site, which receives 22,000 unique visitors each month. Each ad will be displayed as a banner along the left-hand column, and will appear on the current magazine and info pages of our site. Advertisers should place insertions two weeks prior to their first appearance. Images should be submitted in JPEG, GIF, or PSD format, at a size of 140 pixels wide by 90 pixels high.
